Modi’s BJP eliminated in Kargil Hill LG elections

People of Kashmir have rejected the Hindutva ideology of the BJP led by Modi, says Mehbooba Mufti.

KARGIL: The ruling Indian BJP party of prime minister Narendra Modi has been eliminated in the council elections of Kargil Hill constituency, according to media reports.

The National Congress, Opposition Itehad and the Congress parties have won these local government elections.

According to the reports, the National Congress bagged 12, Congress 10 and independent candidates won two seats.

On the other hand, the BJP could win just two seats.

After the illegal abolition of article 370 of the Indian constitution that gave special status to the disputed territory of Kashmir in 2019, these were the first of any elections held in the area.

Kashmiri leader Mehbooba Mufti while commenting on the humiliation of the BJP in the local elections said that the people of Kashmir had rejected the Hindutva ideology of the BJP led by Modi.

The results of the elections showed the hatred the Modi-led government has created among citizens belonging to different faiths especially Muslins, Sikhs abd Christians in whole India.
