PESHAWAR: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, timely and professional police operations successfully thwarted terrorist attacks on multiple police checkpoints.
According to reports, at round 2:00 AM last night, a group of over 15 terrorists attempted to attack the Fatah Khel police checkpoint in the jurisdiction of Mandan police station.
Using thermal cameras, police observed suspicious movements of these militants near the checkpoint as they tried to take positions in the surrounding forest.
Alert and well-prepared police personnel immediately opened fire, forcing the attackers to flee under the cover of darkness.
The DIG Bannu Region praised the bravery and alertness of the officers at Fatah Khel, stating that modern technology and police readiness prevented the militants’ plans and ensured the safety of local residents. Search operations are ongoing to track the fleeing terrorists.
Similarly, at Sakhi Pul checkpoint, another attack attempt from militants originating in the Khyber tribal district was also successfully foiled by alert police personnel.
