ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has decided to register cases against eight additional YouTubers and social media influencers for allegedly promoting gambling applications on social media platforms.

According to agency officials, the legal department has been consulted to proceed with the registration of these cases. So far, cases have already been filed against eight YouTubers, including well-known content creators such as Rajab Butt, Nadeem Nani Wala, Iqra Kanwal, and Anas Ali.

Two YouTubers — Saad ur Rehman and Mudasir Hussain — have already been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation. Authorities have also formed special teams to carry out further arrests of those accused.

The crackdown marks an intensified effort by the agency to curb the promotion of illegal online gambling apps through digital platforms, which officials warn pose financial and social risks to young audiences.
