ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam has called for legal action against workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the closure of the motorway and roads which were causing severe inconvenience to the public.
In a statement, Muqam said that while traveling from Swat to Islamabad, he witnessed women, children, and patients stranded due to the road closure.
He criticized the protest, stating that people were suffering unnecessarily, with many missing their flights and others unable to reach hospitals in time. “The state must take action. The public is being subjected to hardship,” he said.
Muqam urged the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to register First Information Reports (FIRs) against those responsible for disrupting public movement.
He stressed that political cases should be fought in courts and questioned why ordinary citizens were being made to suffer.
