Murad Saeed’s nominations for two NA seats rejected

Saeed is an absconder and wanted by police in a number of cases, including the May 9 arson attacks, objections say.

SWAT: The nomination papers submitted on behalf of PTI’s Murad Saeed for two National Assembly seats in Swat have been rejected by the returning officers.

The papers for NA-2 and NA-4 were submitted by lawyers of Saeed, who is a former federal minister and a close aide to former prime minister Imran Khan.

The nominations were rejected on objections that Saeed is an absconder and is wanted by police in a number of cases including the May 9 arson attacks.

A few weeks back, the national identity card of the former minister was blocked on the request of police after he failed to appear in an anti-terrorism court despite repeated notices.
