NA Approves Rs482 Billion Supplementary Grants

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Wednesday approved supplementary grants worth Rs482 billion for various ministries, divisions, and departments.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb presented multiple budget-related documents in the House, including statements of approved expenditures for 2026-27, supplementary expenditures for 2024-25 and 2025-26, excess expenditures from 2016-17 to 2024-25, and audit reports for the fiscal year 2025-26.

During the session, the process of approving supplementary grants for the fiscal year 2024-25 was completed. Key allocations included funds for the Airports Security Force, Cabinet Division, Commerce Division, Defence Division, and Defence Services.

Significant amounts were also approved for the Power Division, Federal Education and Professional Training Division, National Health Services, and other sectors including subsidies and miscellaneous expenditures.

Grants were further approved for institutions such as the Federal Board of Revenue, Foreign Affairs Division, Interior Division, and Information and Broadcasting Division, among others.

The Assembly also approved development and capital expenditures for various departments, including IT and Telecommunication, Petroleum Division, and Railways.

Additionally, the House gave approval to excess expenditures made a decade earlier. A sum of over Rs4.12 billion incurred during the fiscal year 2016-17 by the Pakistan Post Office Department was also sanctioned.

The approvals mark a significant step in formalizing past and current government spending across multiple sectors.
