NA Session Likely to Discuss Creation of New Provinces

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly is expected to convene on September 21, with the creation of new provinces likely to be among the issues discussed during the session.

According to sources, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will prepare a summary next week and send it to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for approval.

Following the prime minister’s approval, the matter will be forwarded to the president for formally summoning the National Assembly session, sources said.

The upcoming session is also expected to take up important legislation, while lawmakers may debate proposals concerning the creation of new provinces.

The session is likely to focus on a range of key legislative matters as the government prepares its parliamentary agenda.
