The National Accountability Bureau has approved to file another corruption reference against PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. 10 references will also be filed against Ahsan Iqbal, Aizaz Chaudhry and other personalities.
A meeting of the Executive Board of the National Accountability Bureau was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal in which NAB Deputy Chairman, Prosecutor General Accountability, DG Operations and other officials participated. I reviewed the cases of corruption against various personalities and institutions. The meeting approved to file another reference of corruption against former Nawaz Sharif.
The NAB Executive Board meeting also approved the filing of a corruption reference against former Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry and former DG Intelligence Bureau Aftab Sultan. The meeting also approved to file a corruption reference against former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad.
According to the statement, the NAB Executive Board approved the filing of a corruption reference against former federal minister Ahsan Iqbal and accused Ahsan Iqbal of abuse of power and increasing the scope of Sports City from Rs 30 million to Rs 3 billion. NAB references against DG Pakistan Sports Board Akhtar Nawaz Ganjira, former Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani and his brother Lashkari Raisani were also approved.
The Executive Board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also approved the probe into the corruption case against PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah, while the probe into the corruption case against PTI leader Aleem Khan was approved. There will be an investigation into the Housing Society fraud case.
Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal said that NAB does not belong to any political party, group and individual but only to the state of Pakistan. Where the law will make its own way.
