National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has completed preparations to file another reference against former and ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, which is likely to be filed in the accountability court next week.
According to NAB sources, 73 security vehicles were illegally procured for the security of foreign dignitaries during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure. While, Nawaz Sharif, as the Prime Minister, also imported bullet proof vehicles for the participants of SAARC Conference which he himself and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had kept using.
Nawaz Sharif’s illegal move caused a loss of over Rs 1.95 billion to the national exchequer, the sources said.
The reference also named former DG Intelligence Bureau (IB) Aftab Sultan, former Foreign Secretary Azaz Chaudhry and Fawad Hassan Fawad among others.
Furthermore, Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has approved to file the reference.
