Netanyahu flees from border village after drone attack by Hezbollah

Israel prime minister was out to meet troops in a village on Lebanese border.

TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had to flee back to the capital after a drone hit the venue of his planned meeting with Israeli forces at a border village near Lebanon.

According to international media reports, the drone attack hit the venue of the meeting about 20 minutes before the arrival of the Israeli prime minister.

The prime minister of Israel was scheduled to meet and have a briefing from commanders at the village of Metolla near the Lebanese border. However, after the drone attack, he was rushed back yo Tel Aviv and the meeting was cancelled.

The Israeli ground assault on Lebanon has met strong resistance from the Hezbollah forces even though the Zionist state has carried out air strikes on its targets and killed top leaders of the resistance movement.
