Pakistan never supplied weapons to Ukraine: FO
Defense ministers of the two countries did not discuss any arm deal in their recent talks, says spokesperson.
ISLAMABAD: With the Russia-Ukraine war still going on, there have been allegations that Pakistan was supplying weapons to the Ukranian military against Russia.
These allegations cropped up in international media which claimed that weapons made in Pakistan had been seen in the use of the Ukranian army.
The allegations seem to gave been hurled in order to damage the relations between Pakistan and Russia. However, Pakistan has repeatedly rejected these reports.
Today, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, spokesperson for Foreign Office, again rejected the notions of any discussion on arms supply between defence ministers of Pakistan and Ukraine.
In a statement, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said Pakistan did not supply arms to a region in conflict and this had been our policy since long.
She said that this topic was not discussed during the yesterday’s telephonic conversation between the Ministers of Defense of Pakistan and Ukraine.
She said that Islamabad had neither supplied nor does it intend to supply any arms to Kiev.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan had stressed the need for a negotiated solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
