New BHU building completed after seven years
Work on project was launched in 2016 and stopped due to lack of funds.
CHITRAL: The new building of the Basic Health Unit (BHU) at Sonoghur Upper Chitral was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Khalid Zaman today.
The building remained incomplete due to unavailability of funds since start of work on it in the year 2016.
Speaking at the inaugural function, village council member and social activist Sadiqur Rehman thanked the district administration for taking interest and getting the building complete.
He said the people of Sonoghur and Parwak were also thankful to District Health Officer Dr Irshad Ahmed for completion of the work on the building.
The DC and DFO said the BHU catered to a large population and still had no equipment necessary for handling delivery cases.
They said most of the cases in the BHU were related to delivery and staff was also available but due to unavailability of equipment such cases could not be handled.
