ISLAMABAD: A new system for the verification of fingerprints for online passport applicants has been introduced, according to officials concerned.
According to Director General of Immigration and Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, overseas Pakistanis had long been facing technical issues regarding the online verification of fingerprints. To resolve these challenges, NADRA has now enabled fingerprint and facial verification through its Pak ID mobile application.
Under the new system, passport applicants can easily verify their fingerprints using the Pak ID app. In cases where fingerprint authentication fails, facial verification will also be available as an alternative option.
Mustafa Jamal Qazi stated that the initiative will particularly benefit overseas Pakistanis and senior citizens.
He added that the department is committed to introducing modern and user-friendly facilities to ensure convenience for the public.
