New Zealand wins tri-series final by defeating Pakistan

KARACHI: New Zealand on Friday beat Pakistan by five wickets to win the tri-series final played in Karachi.
Pakistan’s target of 243 runs was achieved by the Kiwis in the 46th over for the loss of 5 wickets. In the final played in Karachi, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat. Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 10 runs followed by Saud Shakeel for eight and Babar Azam for 29 runs.
Rizwan and Salman once again showed their hands, increased the runs and made a partnership of 88 runs, but the captain and vice-captain were out for 46 and 45 runs.
Taib Tahir also scored 38 runs but the other batsmen could take the score to 242. The entire team was dismissed in the final over.

Chasing a target of 243 runs, New Zealand’s start was also not good and in the second over Will Young fell victim to Naseem Shah for five runs. After this, Kane Williamson and Conway batted responsibly but Williamson was bowled for 34 runs on the total score of 76. Conway also returned with 48 runs.
Mitchell and Latham played brilliant innings and played an important role in the team’s success.
