India remain fourth but have an opportunity to improve their position when they face New Zealand in a two-match Test series in November and December.

Australia’s next assignment will also be against New Zealand, with the two sides scheduled to play a four-match Test series. The series will be held in Australia, with the opening Test set to begin in Perth on December 9.

South Africa, meanwhile, will have a two-week break before hosting Bangladesh in November. The two teams are scheduled to play a two-match Test series.

Australia have also surrendered the top position in the ICC world Test rankings following their defeat to South Africa. South Africa have moved into first place, with Australia dropping to second and New Zealand occupying third position.

The three-match series between Australia and South Africa began with the hosts taking a 214-run victory in the opening Test. However, the Proteas bounced back strongly in the second match, defeating Australia by an innings and 31 runs.

South Africa then sealed the series 2-1 with a convincing 176-run victory in the third Test, completing a turnaround after losing the opening match.
