The meeting focused on strengthening economic relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh emphasised the need to promote business-to-business contacts and increase private-sector participation in bilateral trade and investment.
He identified e-commerce, warehousing, textiles and minerals as sectors offering significant investment opportunities. He also noted that Kazakhstan’s relatively low energy costs could attract Pakistani textile investors.
The federal minister stressed the importance of implementing memorandums of understanding signed during President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to Kazakhstan, saying Pakistan wanted to translate existing commitments into practical trade and investment partnerships.
Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin said Pakistan’s market of around 250 million people offered important trade opportunities for Kazakhstan. He added that a five-year roadmap had been prepared to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh also highlighted the need for effective implementation of existing agreements and stronger banking links to give fresh momentum to bilateral trade.
The discussions reflected both countries’ commitment to broadening economic engagement, encouraging private investment and improving connectivity to facilitate trade and business exchanges.
