A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the temple was damaged by heavy rainfall on July 21, 2026. Local authorities assessed the damage and have initiated steps to restore the temple building, the spokesperson added.
The Foreign Office spokesperson accused India of distorting facts and resorting to political tactics, saying such attempts cannot divert international attention from India’s record on minority rights.
The statement said the international community is well aware of what it described as systematic actions against minorities and their places of worship in India. It called for Indian leadership to be held accountable for the use of the Hindutva ideology against minority communities.
The spokesperson further alleged that Muslims, Sikhs and Christians in India face state-backed persecution, urging the Indian government to focus on its own record concerning minorities instead of making accusations against others.
