UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has reiterated that there is no military solution to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, urging renewed diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.

Speaking at a special UN Security Council session marking four years of the war, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, emphasized that dialogue remains the only viable path to peace.

He noted that Pakistan had supported negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in 2022 and continues to advocate for the resumption of talks.

He stressed that any resolution should take into account the regional security concerns of all parties and be guided by the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Pakistan reaffirmed its consistent position that sustained negotiations are essential to ending the conflict and ensuring long-term stability in the region.
