Nomination papers of Imran, other PTI leaders rejected

Papers of Azam Swati and Zulfi Bukhari also rejected from Attock and Mansehra.

MIANWALI: The nomination papers of former prime minister Imran Khan from two National Assembly constituencies have been rejected.

PML-N leader Mian Nasir had raised objections to the candidature of Imran Khan from NA-122 Lahore.

He pointed out that the proposer and seconder of Imran did not belong to the area. Moreover, Imran Khan has been convicted in the Toshakhana case.

The returning officer had reserved his decision on the objections and today announced it and rejected the papers.

Moreover, Imran’s papers were also rejected from NA-89 in Mianwali. Objections were raised by two persons saying that Imran was convicted in the Toshakhana case and a convict cannot take part in election.

Meanwhile, papers of a PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari were also rejected from Attock 50.

PTI’s Azam Swati had also filed nomination papers against PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif from NA-15, Mansehra, but the papers were rejected as Swati was an absconder in the May 9 arson attacks cases.
