KARACHI: A Pakistani footballer, Amanullah Rauf Baloch, hailing from Karachi’s football hub Lyari, has gone missing in Oslo, Norway, during the prestigious Norway Cup tournament.

According to a spokesperson for the Muslim Hands football team, Amanullah disappeared on the very first day of the event and failed to attend the official welcome ceremony. Despite efforts to trace him, his whereabouts remain unknown, and the rest of the team has since returned to Pakistan.

The spokesperson confirmed that Amanullah’s passport has been handed over to the Pakistani Embassy in Norway. Norwegian police and embassy officials have been formally notified and are coordinating efforts to locate the missing player.

The incident comes as Better Future Pakistan, another team consisting largely of players from Lyari, made history at the Norway Cup by winning the Under-15 title. The team remained undefeated throughout the competition, delivering dominant performances in every match to claim the championship trophy.
