NEW YORK: New York Police shot dead a man after he refused to throw down a knife through which he had just stabbed to death his eight-year-old son.
The incident occured in the Queens neighborhood of the New York City. According to the police, the patrol officers asked the man to throw down his knife, but the man refused and advanced towards the cops before being fatally shot.
It emerged that a couple in a Queens apartment had a brawl over some domestic issue inside their house. The enraged man stabbed his 29-year-old partner in the back.
The woman ran out of the house and started screaming, catching the attention of the police. Inside the house, the man vented his anger by repeatedly stabbing his eight-year-old son to death.
When the police asked him to throw away the knife, he refused and advanced towards the officers instead, who shot him dead in self-defense.
In the tragic incident, both the man and his son lost their lives. Police said they were investigating the incident.
