Occupied Kashmir’s ex-CM Escapes Assassination Attempt

JAMMU: Former chief minister of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah narrowly escaped an assassination attempt after a gunman opened fire at him in Jammu, officials said.

According to police, Abdullah was returning after attending a wedding ceremony when an armed man fired a shot at him from close range. Security personnel and police immediately apprehended the attacker at the scene.

Abdullah and the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, who was accompanying him, remained unharmed in the incident.

The attack took place in the Royal Park area of Jammu where the ceremony was being held. Officials said the assailant fired a single shot but the bullet did not hit anyone.
