OGRA Cuts LPG Prices for August
Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has slashed liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for August 2025, bringing much-needed relief to consumers.
Effective August 1, both producer and consumer rates have been reduced by over Rs. 17,000 per ton and Rs. 209 per domestic cylinder.
LPG Prices Drop
According to OGRA’s notification, the producer price of LPG is now set at Rs. 174,069.26 per ton — down from Rs. 191,802.01 in July 2025.
This translates to a reduction of Rs. 209.24 per 11.8 kg cylinder, bringing the price to Rs. 2,054.02.
Similarly, the consumer price has dropped from Rs. 233,102.01 per ton to Rs. 215,369.26.
The price of an 11.8 kg cylinder for consumers now stands at Rs. 2,541.36, reflecting the same Rs. 209.24 reduction.
Relief for Households
The decline in prices is expected to benefit households relying on LPG for cooking and heating.
It may also help reduce inflationary pressure, especially for low-income consumers who are most affected by fuel price changes.
OGRA adjusts LPG prices monthly based on international market trends and currency exchange rates.
