One Dead in Clash Over TikTok Video Comments

PESHAWAR: A dispute over comments on a TikTok video turned deadly in the Yakatoot area of Peshawar, where gunfire left one young man dead and seven others injured, according to police and local reports.

The incident occurred at Toheedabad Chowk, where a minor argument between two groups escalated after heated exchanges over a video on TikTok. The situation quickly turned violent, leading to physical confrontation and later armed firing.

During the exchange of fire, a young man identified as Irfan was killed on the spot.

Seven other individuals were injured in the incident, including Sohail, Dawood, Muhammad Sani, Farman, Noor Khan, and Adnan. Authorities also confirmed that some bystanders were caught in the crossfire.

Eyewitnesses reported that panic spread throughout the area as gunshots rang out, forcing people to take cover to save their lives.

Officials from Agha Mirjani Shah Police Station arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and shifted the injured to hospital for treatment. Officials said an investigation had been launched to determine the exact cause of the clash, while raids are underway to arrest the suspects.

Authorities believe the initial dispute stemmed from social media comments, highlighting once again how online disagreements can escalate into serious real-world violence if not handled with restraint.
