RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has announced to grant one-month extension for expired visit visa holders to depart from the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has announced a one-month extension period for expatriates whose visit visas have expired, allowing them to leave the Kingdom without incurring heavy penalties.
According to the statement issued by Jawazat, the new measure came into effect on 1 Muharram 1447 AH (corresponding to 27 June 2025). It applies to all categories of visit visa holders whose visas have expired.
Eligible individuals can submit a request through the Absher electronic platform’s “Tawasul” service. After paying the prescribed fees and fines, they will be granted a one-month extension to arrange their departure.
Jawazat urged all qualifying expatriates to take advantage of this relief initiative to regularize their status and leave the country without facing harsh penalties or legal consequences.
