LAHORE: Police have taken the Opposition Leader of the Punjab Assembly, Mian Riaz Qureshi, into custody.
According to a spokesperson for the Opposition Leader, Qureshi was arrested from Kallar Kahar.
Alongside him, three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of the Punjab Assembly were also detained. The arrested lawmakers include Farukh Javed Maan and Ali Imtiaz Waraich.
Qureshi and the other assembly members were taken into custody while they were going to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
They were placed in a prisoner transport van, following instructions from PTI for the members to report to Adiala Jail today.
