ISLAMABAD: The opposition alliance’s protest over the transfer of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to a hospital has entered its third day.
Opposition leaders are holding sit-ins at Parliament House, Parliament Lodges, and KP House, while the capital’s busy Dastoor Road remains completely blocked.
The Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan (Movement for the Protection of Pakistan’s Constitution) has stated that the protest will continue until Imran Khan is transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital.
A PTI spokesperson emphasized that no medical treatment should be started without the presence of Khan’s personal doctors.
Meanwhile, the government’s medical panel, assigned to examine Imran Khan, could not reach Adiala Jail on the night between Saturday and Sunday. Based on the panel’s recommendations, Khan will be transferred to a hospital.
The panel includes Dr. Amjad and Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi. The Supreme Court has ordered a full medical report on Imran Khan’s condition to be submitted before February 16.
