KARACHI: Due to rising tensions in the Middle East related to the ongoing war involving Iran, United States and Israel, a total of 104 flights from Pakistan to Middle Eastern destinations were cancelled in the last 24 hours.
Flight operations from major Pakistani cities have been significantly affected. From Karachi, 21 flights to destinations including Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Bahrain were cancelled. From Lahore, 27 flights to Dubai, Doha, Sharjah, Kuwait, Dammam, and Abu Dhabi were also suspended.
Similarly, 29 flights from Islamabad to Doha, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Sharjah, and Dubai were cancelled.
Officials say the disruption is part of wider aviation safety precautions due to the escalating tensions in the region.
Over the past week alone, around 1,130 flights from Pakistan to Middle Eastern countries have been cancelled as the situation continues to develop.
Airlines and aviation authorities are closely monitoring the situation, while passengers are being advised to check flight updates before traveling.
