ISLAMABAD: Over 30 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Balochistan and Khyber Pakthunkhwa in the last a couple of days.
Most parts of Balochistan were submerged in floodwater, while GLOFs and flash floods have wrecked havoc in hilly areas of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
In the past 24 hours as many as 12 people were reported killed in different districts of Balochistan. More than 30 fatalities were also reported from Khyber Pakthunkhwa, including seven from Chitral.
The Met Office has forecast more rains in the country. The NDMA has warned of Glofs snd flash flooding in hilly areas of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and urban flooding in cities of the country.
Meanwhile, in a statement, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur ordered the concerned departments to shift people living along flooded rivers and nullahs to safer places. He also ordered that holidays of all government officials in flood-hit arras be cancelled so that they can help the affected people.
