A senior government official in a central African country is being probed after revelation that he had filmed having sex with at least 400 women, including wives and relatives of senior government functionaries.
Baltasar Ebang Engonga, director of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency, has been suspended, announced Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue in a post on X.
Around 400 sex videos of Engonga and multiple women, were found when police and other investigation officers were searching his computers during a probe into allegations of embezzlement of public funds by him a few weeks ago.
Some of the sex videos were later leaked and posted on social media that went viral leading to suspension of the accused and the initiation of another inquiry against him.
Social media users called on the government for stringent action. They also said that the accused was planning to join politics and it could close his possible career in politics besides costing him his current job.
On the other hand, the government also announced that it would install surveillance cameras in offices to check such activities by government officials.
It’s not clear if Engonga had used his position in the government to have sex with such a large number of women or it was consensual.
