LAHORE: Over 4,000 cases have been registered against underage drivers and those driving without a license as a campaign launched by the police continues.
Police say the 4,026 underage drivers were booked in Lahore alone in the last one week. The vehicles of these underage drivers have also been impounded in different police stations.
Moreover, cases were also registered against 2,626 persons for driving vehicles without a license and 1,080 others for driving bikes without license.
The campaign was launched across the province on the direction of the caretaker Punjab government after an underage driver killed six of a family members by ramming his vehicle into their car after a spat in Lahore.
