KARACHI: Overseas Pakistanis sent a record $40.18 billion in remittances to Pakistan during 2025, according to figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The central bank said remittances in December 2025 amounted to $3.58 billion. Of this, $810 million was sent from Saudi Arabia, $720 million from the United Arab Emirates, $560 million from the United Kingdom, and $490 million from European countries.
The SBP noted that January 2025 recorded the lowest monthly inflows at $3.0 billion, while March 2025 saw the highest monthly remittances of the year at $4.05 billion. The average monthly workers’ remittances during 2025 stood at $3.34 billion.
Remittances continue to play a vital role in supporting Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and overall economic stability.
