Overseas Pakistanis Remitted $3.18 Billion in September: SBP

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released official figures showing that overseas Pakistanis sent a total of $3.18 billion to the country in September.

According to the SBP report, Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia remitted $750 million, while those in the United Arab Emirates sent $670 million. Remittances from the United Kingdom amounted to $450 million.

The report further revealed that over the past three months, Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia sent a cumulative total of $2.31 billion, and those in the UAE remitted $1.98 billion during the same period.

Additionally, Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom sent $1.36 billion over three months, while those in other European countries contributed $1.28 billion. Pakistani residents in the United States sent a total of $800 million in remittances during the same period.

The State Bank noted that during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, total remittances reached $9.53 billion, representing an 8.4% increase compared to the first quarter of the previous fiscal year.
