Six major generals of the Pakistan Army, including former DG ISPR and Division Commander in Okara, Major General Asif Ghafoor, have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
A statement issued on the social networking site by Maj. Gen. Babar Iftikhar, DG-ISPR, said that six major generals of the Pakistan Army have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.
According to DG ISPR, those promoted include former DG ISPR and Major General Asif Ghafoor, Major General Akhtar Nawaz and Major General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, who commanded the division in Okara, as well as Major General Salman Fayyaz Ghani, Major General Sarfraz Ali and Major General Muhammad Ali are also among the promoters.
Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has approved the promotion of officers of the Pakistan Army. Six lieutenant generals of the Pakistan Army will retire next month after completing their duties, in view of which the major generals have been promoted.
The promoted Major General Akhtar Nawaz is the Vice Chief of General Staff, Major General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat has been posted in Inter Services Intelligence, Major General Asif Ghafoor General Officer Commanding Okara, Major General Sarfraz Ali Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan, Major General Muhammad Ali as Commandant PMA Kakul and Major General Salman Fayyaz Ghani are performing duties at the Commandant School of Infantry Quetta.
