COLOMBO: The T20 World Cup Super 8 stage match between Pakistan and New Zealand was called off due to heavy rain on Saturday.
Only the toss was possible before the downpour, and both teams were awarded one point each.
Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, won the toss and invited New Zealand’s captain, Mitchell Santner, to bowl first. Pakistan made one change to their lineup, replacing Khawaja Nafees with Fakhar Zaman. Agha stated, “We will try to set a good score and defend it.”
New Zealand also made three changes to their team, but unfortunately, the heavy rain disrupted the match, preventing both teams from playing.
It is worth noting that Pakistan’s next match will be against England on Tuesday in Pallekele, and the team is gearing up for the challenge.
