WASHINGTON: The joint military exercise “Inspired Gambit” between Pakistan and the United States has further strengthened their defense cooperation.
The U.S. has hailed the exercise as a significant development in enhancing bilateral defense relations with Pakistan.
In an official statement released on X (formerly Twitter), U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) highlighted that U.S. and Pakistani forces successfully completed training at the National Counter-Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi earlier this week.
The focus of the exercise was on infantry tactics, advanced strategies, and counter-terrorism operations. The training aimed to foster greater trust, coordination, and practical collaboration between the two militaries, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional and global security.
The Inspired Gambit 2026 exercise, held from January 8 to 16, 2026, was particularly centered on counter-terrorism, addressing contemporary security challenges.
This year’s exercise marked the 13th edition of the Inspired Gambit series, which began in 1995. These ongoing joint training sessions serve as a testament to the enduring and robust defense partnership between the U.S. and Pakistan.
