ISLAMABAD: Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari, on the occasion of Pakistan Day, praising the country’s progress in the face of numerous challenges.
According to the Foreign Office, Xi Jinping highlighted Pakistan’s consistent defense of national sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and national dignity. He acknowledged Pakistan’s ability to overcome various obstacles while promoting national development and emphasized the country’s key role in maintaining peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
“China, as a close friend of Pakistan, takes sincere pleasure in the country’s developmental achievements,” Xi said in his message.
The Chinese president also noted that this year marks the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. He expressed hope that both countries would continue to strengthen their traditional friendship, enhance strategic ties, and coordinate development strategies.
Xi Jinping affirmed his commitment to working alongside President Zardari to further consolidate the Pak-China partnership for a shared future and to ensure greater benefits for the people of both nations.
