Pakistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan talk regional connectivity

Ministers and officials decide to hold regular meeting in future.

ISLAMABAD: Representatives and senior officials from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan here on Tuesday held a meeting to discuss steps strengthen regional cooperation and connectivity.

Pakistan’s Commerce Ministers and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan chaired the meeting which discussed boosting trade relations and how to reduce trade barriers by simplifying customs procedures.

The participants also discussed ways to enhance transportation networks and promote infrastructure development to facilitate the movement of goods.

Commerce Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz said the trilateral cooperation is expected to stimulate economic growth in all three countries.

The three countries can expand their economies by leveraging their strengths and resources, he added.

The participants agreed to continue their efforts by regularly holding talks in future as well.
