ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Airport Authority has announced a major initiative to make all airports across the country completely cashless.
Under the new system, passengers and staff will be able to access all airport services through digital payment methods. In collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan, the Airport Authority will install QR codes at all airports to facilitate seamless cashless transactions.
According to officials, all shops and vendors operating within airport premises will be required to adopt the cashless system.
In the first phase, the new payment model will be introduced at Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad airports, before being expanded to other airports nationwide.
