ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has become the sixth most expensive country with 38 per cent inflation rate in the world according to the World Statistic index.
According to statistics, the inflation rate has touched an alarming 38 per cent in Pakistan while Venezuela scored number one in the world with the inflation rate of 436 per cent due to the sanctions imposed by the US.
A report said Lebanon was the second most expensive country on the list with an inflation rate of a staggering 269 per cent and Syria at third number with 139 per cent rate of inflation.
The organisation recorded the rate of inflation in Saudi Arabia at 2.8 per cent, the UK 8.7 per cent and India 4.24 per cent.
The statistic reported that the purchasing power of Afghani people had increased by one per cent after the last government took over the reins of the country.
“The rate of inflation is recorded at 4 per cent in the US,” the organisation added.
