Responding to media questions, Foreign Office Spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said the demolition of the historic place of worship was another manifestation of what he described as an Islamophobic and Hindutva-driven campaign targeting Islamic heritage.

He said the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992 remained an enduring symbol of religious intolerance, prejudice and hatred.

The spokesperson urged the international community to take immediate notice of what he called the systematic persecution of Muslims in India and the continued desecration and destruction of their places of worship.

He stressed that Indian authorities must be held accountable for actions affecting the fundamental religious freedoms and cultural heritage of minorities, particularly Muslims.
