ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent Israeli military strikes on Iran, calling them a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Foreign Office on Thursday described the attack as a clear breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan denounced the Israeli airstrikes, asserting that “the attack is a flagrant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and regional integrity.” He emphasized that the aggressive Israeli action contradicts the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
Khan further stated that under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran has the legitimate right to defend itself against such aggression. “Israel must be held accountable for its destabilizing actions in the region,” he added.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s support, the spokesperson said, “Pakistan expresses full solidarity with the Iranian people at this critical time. Israel’s reckless aggression has endangered regional peace, security, and stability.”
He also called upon the international community and the United Nations to take immediate steps to halt Israeli hostilities and prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also condemned the Israeli assault, describing it as a “heinous act” that violates Iran’s sovereignty and undermines international norms. “This attack has shaken the foundations of global legal principles,” Dar said in a separate message.
The incident has sparked global concern, with several countries urging restraint and calling for a peaceful resolution to the escalating tensions.
