In a statement on X, Tarar strongly condemned what he described as deliberate and unlawful drone incursions from Afghan territory, calling them a serious violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He said Pakistan’s air defence systems detected and destroyed all incoming drones before they could reach their intended targets, successfully thwarting the attempted attacks.

According to the minister, the strikes targeted locations in Afghanistan being used to launch and store drones. He said the sites were directly linked to attacks against Pakistan.

Tarar said the strikes were deliberate, precise, proportionate and limited to identified military targets. He maintained that the operation was restricted to locations directly associated with attacks on Pakistan.

The information minister said Pakistan would not accept attacks from Afghan territory, whether carried out by terrorist groups or tolerated or supported by the Afghan Taliban authorities. He warned that any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty would receive an immediate and decisive response.

Tarar called on the Afghan Taliban government to immediately halt all hostile activities against Pakistan and take effective and sustained action against terrorist elements operating from Afghan soil.

He stressed that Pakistan did not want an escalation and remained committed to regional peace, dialogue and constructive engagement. However, he said Pakistan’s commitment to peace should not be interpreted as weakness or as willingness to tolerate hostile actions indefinitely.

Tarar said Pakistan would continue to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity and citizens with full resolve, adding that any further provocative action by the Afghan Taliban would receive a firm and unequivocal response.
