Pakistan Consulate, OPP Join Hands to Support Students’ Education
NEW YORK: The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York hosted an event in collaboration with the Oxford Pakistan Programme to raise awareness about the programme’s efforts to expand educational opportunities for students of Pakistani heritage.
The initiative supports scholarships, and academic opportunities aimed at increasing the representation of Pakistani and Pakistani-origin students at the University of Oxford.
The programme seeks to create pathways for talented students not only from Pakistan but also from the wider Pakistani diaspora to pursue higher education at Oxford.
The event opened with welcome remarks by the Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, who emphasized the importance of investing in education and empowering talented youth from Pakistan and the diaspora.
He highlighted the role of initiatives such as the Oxford Pakistan Programme in strengthening the academic representation of Pakistanis at leading international universities and fostering greater collaboration within the global Pakistani community.
