According to sources, six additional cricketers have been called up from Pakistan to England, including Saim Ayub and Arafat Minhas. The remaining players are expected to travel to England after receiving their visas.
Meanwhile, questions have been raised over Imam-ul-Haq’s injury after he did not take the field despite expectations that he could bat after receiving pain-relief injections.
Sources said Imam-ul-Haq, along with Mohammad Rizwan, is also expected to be sent back to Pakistan over what officials have described as poor and irresponsible batting performances.
White-ball head coach Mike Hesson will take charge of the team for the third Test, while former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will also remain with the squad.
Pakistan have already lost the Test series after suffering defeats in the opening two matches against England. The third and final Test is scheduled to begin on September 9.
The latest squad changes reflect growing concerns within the PCB over Pakistan’s performance and the need for immediate improvements ahead of the final Test.
