ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces have successfully intercepted and destroyed six more Israeli-manufactured drones allegedly sent by India, as tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors continue to rise.
According to security sources, the drones were brought down in the regions of Vehari, Pakpattan, and Okara. One drone was intercepted in Vehari, another in Pakpattan, while four were destroyed in Okara, indicating a concentrated effort in the southern Punjab region.
This brings the total number of hostile drones neutralized over the past two days to 35, signaling a significant escalation in aerial surveillance and potential aggression across the border.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) stated that all enemy drones were being actively monitored via radar systems. “Whenever a drone enters our airspace, it is tracked in real-time. Our air defense system is capable of detecting and engaging even small drones,” he said.
He emphasized that the drone interception operations are conducted with utmost care, especially near civilian areas and commercial air traffic zones, ensuring public safety.
As the situation develops, authorities remain on high alert, and defense systems are fully operational to counter any further incursions.
