Pakistan Envoy, DFC Chief Discuss Enhanced Investment Partnership

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh met Benjamin Black, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

The meeting focused on matters related to the partnership between Pakistan and the DFC says a press release issued by the embassy of Pakistan.

Ambassador Sheikh appreciated the DFC’s interest in investing in key sectors in Pakistan, including energy, infrastructure, minerals, information technology (IT) and ports.

Both sides reviewed the progress of ongoing and potential projects across various sectors and agreed to designate focal points to facilitate further cooperation.

Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh presented the DFC CEO with the official FIFA World Cup football, “Trionda,” manufactured in Pakistan, as a commemorative gift.

The Ambassador said that Pakistan’s repeated selection as the manufacturer of the official FIFA World Cup football is a source of great pride and satisfaction for the country.

DFC CEO Benjamin Black praised the quality of the Trionda football.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their partnership to support Pakistan’s socio-economic development and further improve its infrastructure.

Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said a strong Pakistan–U.S. economic partnership will help ensure lasting relations between the two countries.
