Pakistan Grateful to China For Support To Its Sovereignty: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar praised China’s firm commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that Beijing holds a central place in Islamabad’s foreign policy.

At a joint press conference with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Islamabad, Dar welcomed Wang’s visit and described the talks as highly constructive.

He said discussions covered the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), regional peace and stability, and broader cooperation in trade, economy, and people-to-people exchanges.

Dar also confirmed that preparations are underway for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to Beijing.

Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s view of Pakistan as a “trusted ally” and pledged to deepen collaboration in counterterrorism, industry, agriculture, and mining. He expressed solidarity with Pakistan’s flood victims and assured continued Chinese assistance in rehabilitation efforts.

Earlier, both ministers co-chaired the sixth round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue. Reviewing bilateral relations and global developments, they underscored that the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” is essential not only for the prosperity of both nations but also for maintaining peace and stability across the region.
