According to sources, the reviews of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the climate financing programme will be held simultaneously. The talks will assess Pakistan’s performance under the programmes during the second half of the last fiscal year.
Sources said the discussions will cover the fourth review under the EFF programme and the third review under the climate financing programme.
If the reviews are completed successfully, Pakistan is expected to receive the next disbursements under both programmes. The country is likely to receive the fifth tranche under the EFF, along with another disbursement under the climate financing programme.
Pakistan has so far received a combined $4.6 billion under the two IMF programmes, according to sources.
Pakistan is currently participating in two IMF lending programmes simultaneously: the EFF, worth more than $7 billion, and the climate financing programme, valued at $1.4 billion.
