According to the ministry, Pakistan received offers worth $6 billion for the bond issuance, allowing the country to raise $3 billion in a single transaction for the first time.

The Ministry of Finance said the successful issuance reflected growing international confidence in Pakistan. It attributed the development to an improvement in the country’s credit standing and its ability to meet debt repayment obligations.

The government had earlier announced plans to offer a dual-tranche dollar-denominated Eurobond comprising securities with five-year and 10-year maturities to raise funds from international investors.

Finance Adviser Khurram Shahzad had described the planned issuance as an important step toward restoring Pakistan’s access to global capital markets, saying the decision was taken after considering prevailing international market conditions.

He said improving economic stability and stronger macroeconomic indicators had helped restore international investors’ confidence in Pakistan.

Shahzad said Pakistan’s return to global capital markets reflected improving economic confidence and could create new investment opportunities, while the Eurobond issuance represented an important step toward the country’s renewed participation in the international financial system.
